U.S. House Special Election

I have always predicted every U.S. House election, and often have had to go out of my way to formally do so for a special election.

This Tuesday, voters in a district in California will cast ballots in a jungle primary featuring four Republicans and two Democrats. If someone wins a majority of the vote, they are elected to Congress. If not, the top two finishers, regardless of party, will face off in early June for the right to go to D.C. for the rest of the year, even as they have to run at the same time in a jungle primary in a newly redistricted area. That looks almost certain to happen. So, all this is quite confusing to the average person and probably very weird for the candidates, but nonetheless, it is happening because the one time GOP rising star turned Trump stooge quit his job to run what looks like a failed social media app on behalf of Trump.

California

22. (vacant upon resignation of Devin Nunes R)
won by Trump with 52% of the vote

Likely R (Tossup Conway)
