Presidential Power Rankings # 40

October 3, 2007

Democrats:

1. Hillary Milhouse Clinton (1)
2. Barack Fitzgerald Obama (2)
3. John Breck Edwards (3)
4. Bill Horatio Sanz Richardson (4)
5. Chris Castro Dodd (5)
6. Joe Kinnock Biden (6)
7. AlGore (7)
8. Dennis Default Kucinich (8)
9. Mike Not Important Enough Gravel (9)

Just having a little fun, going off the declaration of Obama being the new JFK.

No changes this week, but based on poll results, as well as fundraising in the last quarter, Hillary looks like the New England Patriots of the Democrat Party (and she probably cheats like them too). No other 4-0 candidates though.

Republicans

1. Mitt Romney (1)
2. Rudy Giuliani (2)
3. Fred Thompson (3)
4. John McCain (4)
5. Mike Huckabee (5)
6. Ron Paul (7)
7. Sam Brownback (8)
8. Tom Tancredo (9)
9. Duncan Hunter (10)
10. Alan Keyes (new)

Well, Newt made it official and finally took himself out of the running. He was never serious at all, in my opinion.

So, members of the bottom tier all move up a spot, and that clears one up for Alan Keyes, the burgeoning new Harold Stassen of the Republican Party.

I do think things are pretty tight now between Mitt and Rudy as far as # 1 and #2, Rudy has gained ground on the frontrunner Romney in NH, but Romney is still ahead. He is ahead in Iowa too, but one ARG poll this week shows a very close race there. However, if you choose to believe that poll, you would also have to believe the ARG poll that shows Romney has now moved into the lead in South Carolina as well, and that Fred Thompson is way down at 10% in that state. I am very skeptical of that, although a new Rasmussen Poll does show some significant movement in favor of Romney in South Carolina.

Romney also leads in Michigan and Nevada as of the last surveys there, and is expected to have raised the most money among GOP candidates in the Third Quarter.

Go Cubs!
