American Idol Top 7 Rankings

While I might not have loved every one of the song choices, there is no doubt that the talent this season runs pretty deep. In ranking them, many of the contestants are very much bunched together, and it makes it a very interesting season for that reason.

Round 1:

7. Hollie Cavanago (solo) B
6. Phillip Phillips (duet) B
5. Colton Dixon (solo) B
4. Skylar Laine (solo) B+
3. Elise Testone (duet) B+
2. Joshua Ledet (solo) B+
1. Jessica Sanchez (solo) B+

Round 2:

7. Jessica Sanchez (trio) B-
6. Hollie Cavanagh (trio) B-
5. Joshua Ledet (trio) B
4. Colton Dixon (duet) B
3. Elise Testone (solo) B
2. Skylar Laine (duet) B+
1. Phillip Phillips (solo) B+

Combined, with the duets and trios sort of messing this all up:

7. Hollie Cavanagh
6. Colton Dixon
5. Jessica Sanchez
4. Phillip Phillips
3. Joshua Ledet
2. Elise Testone
1. Skylar Laine

I would be shocked if Hollie is not at the bottom of the voting getting tallies this week. While she is quite good, and both my parents seem to be big fans, I think the others are either "better" or more "ready" for the world of post-Idol music.

This is the third week I am predicting this to happen for her, and both times I have predicted the judges would ultimately save her. While I think they would almost certainly save Elise or anyone else who might be at risk tomorrow, I am no longer convinced they would save Hollie. However, if nobody gets saved this week, wouldn't that just make it a mandatory save situation the next week in order to have the show run its scheduled course of weeks?

Corey, Hollie is from McKinney, Texas (my homestate and fellow Texan) and it's obvious she's getting the Rick Perry vote and she's HORRIBLE.

Jessica and Joshua looked pissed off that they were in the bottom 3 last night.
