Feasting on Cardinal

I promised that this would not be the kind of blog where I do a lot of commentary on current events, but since this is new, I have to direct this to a couple of people in particular, who will surely know who they are.....

So, what about that Cubs sweep of the Cardinals?

We just own you this year! The Cardinals cannot in Chiacgo this year, even if they played the minor league Kane County Cougars .

Even going back to last year, the Cubs just have the number of St. Louis in a big way.

So, when you are playing in October, just be very grateful that you will not have to deal with the one National League team that you cannot beat... the mighty Chicago Cubs!

This was the first four game sweep of the Cardinals by the Cubs since July of 1972. Back then, the Democrats were still intent on following the political direction and philosophy of George McGovern.

I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same..............

Indeed. The last time the Baltimore Orioles won the World Series was 1983, when Republicans were mouthing Ronald Reagan's platitudes like a choir. 23 years on...the Orioles have a new stadium, but the GOP does not have a new agenda.

Thank goodness that Republicans are still standing on the Reagan platform of Faith, Family, and Freedom.

It's why we keep winning elections.

And Cal Ripken Jr. would agree.

I remember at the age of 5 watching the Orioles defeat the White Sox to win the pennant from a bar at a bowling alley. Seriously..

The O's have taken a downward turn though since that liberal Peter Angelos has bought the team.

And you guys are still spouting the same "cut taxes on the rich and it'll balance the budget" rhetoric that didn't work then and doesn't work now. Bush's economic statements couldn't sound more dated if he breakdanced while delivering them--at least then they'd be intentionally funny :)

Peter Angelos isn't really a liberal, as I see it. More like he's a selfish megalomanic who happens to be a Democrat. His deals with Comcast and others prevent us from watching Nationals games (not that I'd watch much of them anyway.)
