Corey: What's the domino effects on IL State AG Lisa Madigan (D) announcing she's NOT seeking reelection to a 5th term in 2018 ?

Who do the IL Dems & GOP have to run for the state's Law Enforcement Chief post ?

It's a pretty surprising development. It's amazing that her father's political career is going to outlast hers. She wanted to run for Governor for some time, but her father would not step aside as Speaker (he is the longest serving Speaker in American history) and he is incredibly unpopular statewide and she might have feared a backlash against her.

There a bunch of potential candidates. For Democrats, I think that State Sen Kwame Rauol is going to run, but there may be others, such as Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and State Rep. Scott Drury a party maverick, who is currently running for Governor.

The announced Republican candidate is Erika Harold, an African-American former Miss America and former Congressional candidate. It is likely that with this development she will face primary challenges from perhaps the DuPage County States' Attorney or others.

It seems that Daddy Madigan is hell-bent on dying in office as the Speaker of the IL House of Representatives.

What's this I hear about IL Secretary of State Jesse White (D) flip-flopping & running for a 6th term ?
