Presidential Power Rankings # 22
May 30, 2007
Democrats:
1. Hillary Rodham Clinton (1)
2. Barack Obama (2)
3. John Edwards (3)
4. Al Gore (4)
5. Bill Richardson (5)
6. Joe Biden (6)
7. Chris Dodd (7)
8. Dennis Kucinich (8)
9. Mike Gravel (9)
10. Wesley Clark (10)
No changes this week, but if the ARG polls out yesterday from Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina are to be believed (and I am a little skeptical), and Edwards is ahead of Obama in all three states, it may be necessary to make a swap between # 2 and # 3.
Republicans:
1. Mitt Romney (1)
2. Rudy Giuliani (2)
3. John McCain (3)
4. Fred Thompson (4)
5. Mike Huckabee (5)
6. Newt Gingrich (6)
7. Tommy Thompson (7)
8. Sam Brownback (8)
9. Duncan Hunter (9)
10. Tom Tancredo (10)
No changes here this week. Nationally, this week's Rasmussen poll shows Romney catching McCain, while the ARG polls for this month once again show McCain leading all three of the important early states, but perhaps by a smaller margin than before. Currently though, based on other polls, Romney is averaging a lead in both Iowa and New Hampshire. If other polls assert that McCain (or Giuliani) is ahead in those two states, a change will be necessary. As a Romney supporter, I think he is going to win the nomination, but things got really good for him in the first two states a lot earlier than many anticipated and it may be hard to meet those expectations throughout the rest of the year.

actually I have counted and 2 polls Zogby (cant be trusted and SurveyUSA) show Him ahead in Iowa and NH and 2 polls who McCain ahead ARG and Research 2000. 1 poll shows Rudy ahead. Its still 1.McCain 2. Giuliani and 3. Romney. please post on true facts not who u are supporting.
sorry I meant Mitt it ahead in 2 polls Zogby and Survey.
The Des Moines Register poll shows Romney up in Iowa by a significant amount.
I believe one of the polls that shows McCain "ahead" in Iowa is one that has the top three all seperated by one point.
so does a poll showing Mitt up in Iowa. NH you ahevto admit is near tie. I have seen several showing both Mitt and McCain ahead there. Well it doesn't matter. With Thompson in Mitt will likely lose support along with Rudy.
I'd say it's time to move Edwards into the number two spot. Good polls in Iowa, good performance in the debate, move him up.
