2025-2026 College Football Bowl Games- Part 6

One thing that is very clear is that receiving a Bye in the College Football Playoffs has not been a good thing. Since that began last year, seven out of eight teams who had that have now lost. The exception was Indiana's blowout Rose Bowl win on New Year's Day, so maybe that should count for two

 

Also, while it is not Division 1, I think a mention should be made of the Illinois State Redbirds, who won a bunch of upsets in their Division II playoffs and after a late comeback got all the way to Overtime in the championship game before losing a heartbreaker to Montana State. Hopefully, the remaining Bowl Games are as competitive.
