Rest in Peace, Les Grobstein. (The Chicago sports radio legend, whom I listed late night, on and off for decades, also once nearly hit me with his car when I was about 8 years old and he lived very close by.)
There are eight teams left. For me, I actually like all of the 4 remaining AFC teams, even back to my childhood in most cases. I remember watching the Bengals and Bills lose Super Bowls (a lot in Buffalo's case), so it would be a great story if one of them could win one. I remember Tennessee losing one as well. The Chiefs did get one a couple years ago, after being a seemingly cursed franchise, so I also would not be opposed to them getting a second one.
The NFC teams? I dislike them all. This would be like a Republican Presidential Primary field full of Trumpists. The Packers are the Packers. Enough said. I have had resentment towards teams that used to play in Candlestick Park going back to childhood, due to bad Chicago sports memories. While one has to respect Tom Brady for what he is continuing to accomplish, as one of the few remaining pro athletes older than myself, I think he has won enough and so has Tampa in the last couple of years. Los Angeles does not need a title either. Yet, one of those four teams are going to the Super Bowl. I mostly just do not want it to be the Packers.
