Candle In The Wind 2008
Music by Elton John & Bernie Taupin
Lyrics by Corey Gross
To premiere April 9, 2008 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City as Sir Elton John performs concert to raise funds for the Presidential campaign of Senator Hillary Clinton
Thank you Madame Senator
For being so great
Your plane touched down in Bosnia
While the snipers lay in wait
You want to reform the health care
While your opponent does not dare
His pastor is so crazy
Yet you are the one he says is unfair
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a President meant-to-be
From Park Ridge to Wellesley
You were more noble than any "he."
I would like to vote for you
But I am not allowed
When you are President
America will be so proud
All those years you suffered
In the backwoods of Little Rock
You are entitled to the Oval Office
This election should be a lock
Oh, Hillary, we will never forget your grace
When at the White House you kept it together
But probably slapped Bill across the face
Come next January, at the Ball you will dance
This time, your husband better be sure to keep it in his pants
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a President born-to-be
Through the good times and the drama
You are more qualified than Barack Obama
In 2004, you came to New York
Oh, the Junior Senator, the people made you
All across the state
From the Puerto Rican to the Hasidic Jew
Now on the campaign trail
The people look and scream "it's her!"
She makes everyone forget
About former Governor Spitzer
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a President-destined-to be
Those who oppose you shall be rendered moot
We really need you, our leader in a pantsuit
Your thirty-five years of work
Will not pass by in vain
There is no way you will allow
That rookie to be clobbered by John McCain
They say you don't have the delegates
The blogs, pundits, and the jackals
But by the time you leave Denver
You will have had the final cackle
For when the call comes at 3 am
You are the one to pick up the phone
The snipers could not stop you
You are America's own
With Hillary, the children will be safe and sound tomorrow
If we all listen to Geraldine Ferraro
And it seems to me you live your life
Like a President meant to be
To go to the White House, the Senate you must depart
But your supporters know, you are a socialist deep in your heart

OT, internal polls out this week show Glenn McCullough with a 45-38 lead over Greg Davis in the north Mississippi congressional race next week. Travis Childers appears to be pulling away from State Rep Holland for the democrat nomination for this race. Some gop people in the know are worried that Childers will defeat McCullough because of what Glenn did when he was head of the TVA. In the north alabama race to replace Bud Cramer, rumors are very hot that NFL HOF/ex NE Patriots guard John Hannah will run as a republican in this race. Bob Riley though wants Senator Tom Butler(D) to switch parties and run for this seat. Wayne Parker(the 94 gop nominee for that seat is running again)as is the well known car dealer Jeff Sikes and the son of the legendary BBQ icon Big Bob Gibson on the GOP side. This seat is in the lean GOP category as of right now.
