Presidential Power Rankings # 5

January 31, 2007

Democrats:

1. Hillary Rodham Clinton (1)
2. Barack Obama (2)
3. John Edwards (3)
4. Al Gore (4)
5. Bill Richardson (5)
6. Tom Vilsack (6)
7. Chris Dodd (8)
8. Joe Biden (7)
9. Dennis Kucinich (9)
10. Wes Clark (10)
11. Al Sharpton (11)
12. Mark Warner (12)
13. John Kerry (13)
14. Mike Gravel (14)

I was not expecting to make much in the way of changes except perhaps moving Joe Biden up a notch or so, and then, he goes out and makes a politically goofy reference in which he seems to refer that Barack Obama is the first "articulate", "clean" and "good looking" candidate to run for President. The left-wing blogosphere is all over Biden for that gaffe. Considering his history, he better repair the damage he did very soon or his campaign is truly finished before it began.

Republicans:

1. John McCain (1)
2. Mitt Romney (2)
3. Rudy Giuliani (3)
4. Sam Brownback (4)
5. Mike Huckabee (5)
6. Newt Gingrich (6)
7. Tommy Thompson (7)
8. Jim Gimore (8)
9. Chuck Hagel (10)
10. Duncan Hunter (11)
11. George Pataki (9)
12. Tom Tancredo (12)
13. Ron Paul (13)
14. John Cox (14)

I have moved George Pataki down a couple spots, not that it appears that an eventual Presidential bid might be unlikely.

Kucinich over Clark and those others? Come on! Maybe Gravel but all those others would do better running or not.
